Weekend Residential Pottery & Raku Courses 

 

Our Pottery Courses are:

A time to work at your own level and speed.................


The courses are available for all levels, both begineer and those wishing to extend their skills.  Mike has 30 years of pottery experience behind him and works in stone and earthenware.  So if you've never made a pot before or if you are experienced but want to enjoy a weekend with like minded people you are equally welcome.

*New* Pottery Taster Sessions

Half day taster sessions either morning or afternoon that will include   2-3.hours on the wheel, coffee, tea and cake provided.  Cost £45.00 per session.  

One day courses are also available and will include lunch.  Cost £100.00.

Wheel work either mornings/afternoons

Makes an ideal birthday/christmas present

Courses are run to suit requirements.  We cover all the main aspects of Raku (you will be fully involved in the firing process), hand throwing and building.


Included in the course will be glazes, 1 Raku fired pot and 1 hand built / thrown pot, kiln equipment and the necessary tools, meals and accommodation. 

All meals are included in your course fee and food is home-made.  Special diets can be catered for, but please make us aware of any requirements on your booking form.



Fees:

Each weekend course fees cover, tuition, accommodation, meals and materials used:

Residential weekend and tuition £375.00
Deposit £50.00

A course booking is not accepted until the deposit has been paid.  The remainder of the fee is due to be paid six weeks before the course starts.  A post dated cheque may be sent with your deposit if you wish.

 What Happens ?

Residential weekends start with an evening meal and a glass of wine at 7ish!  Weather permitting we will gather in the courtyard or around the wood burner!  This provides a good time to share experience and get to know each other.  The rest of the evening is spent discussing the weekend ahead and looking round the workshop.

Saturday morning & afternoon:

8.30am  Breakfast
9.30am  Tuition / workshop / Raku
Light lunch approx. 1ish!
2.00pm - 4.00pm  Individual work / workshops / Raku

4.00pm - 6.00pm  Chill out, show off Raku pots
6.00pm  onwards  Evening Meal

Sunday morning:

8.30am  Breakfast
9.30am -12.00  Work to be concluded / Course review & feedback
12.00 - 1.00pm  Light lunch and goodbye
